Vanessa is a single mother living in the homeless shelter with her daughter, and she needs your help.
Vanessa is working with the Council of Community Services and Gillette College, eagerly trying to provide a better life for her and her daughter.
With hopes of being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Vanessa is just a few steps away from starting her journey. With the potential for tuition assistance through America’s Promise Grant and Gillette College, there are a few things Vanessa must do before she can apply to the CNA program. This is where Vanessa needs your help.
In order to apply to the CNA program Vanessa must have completed or secured the items below by May 31, 2019:
|Basic Life Support Provider Certification||$65|
|Course Software/ eBook||$110|
|State Certification Application Fee||$120|
|State Certification Exam Fee||$115|
$500 is a daunting amount to cover in less than 30 days. This amount is even more insurmountable when you are homeless with no source of income, like Vanessa.
Vanessa will have the background check she needs and the computer access she requires provided through the Council of Community Services, but many of the other items are outside the scope of our (and many other agencies’) allowable grant spending.
Vanessa is working hard. She knows what she wants to become and can see it in her future. She can see the better life she wants for her and her daughter…she just needs a little help from you to get there.
Please consider helping Vanessa this Mother’s Day weekend.
