Meet Rebekah and Dan

This WyoGives, we are highlighting the people who help make our work here at Council of Community Services possible.

Trends Furniture opened in 1996 with a mission to provide quality products at affordable prices to people in the community from all walks of life. Rebekah and Dan took over when the founder retired in 2014. Through customers’ faithful support of this family-owned and operated store, they have expanded their mission. One way is “Make a Difference Days,” where they choose a different charity or organization within the community to which they donate a portion of their sales. This generous couple agrees that community supports community. They recognize that their success is from the local community and, in appreciation, give back to the local community!

Rebekah said she began volunteering when she was a child, and her mom would take her to the Soup Kitchen. Dan was brought into the fold by Rebekah and recognized what Seconds on the Avenue did for the community as well. They now include their children and the staff of Trends in their generous community support with cheerful spirits. While they do much to support the community, they say what resonates most for them is helping with food insecurity.

“Food is a good starting point for helping people in need and one of the easiest ways to help.” Over the years, they have learned more about all the services Council of Community Services provides to help those in need. The Trends family has supported Council of Community Services not only through Make a Difference Days, but also by donating time, food, and money to help our local community. Our annual Empty Bowl fundraiser would not be complete without their donated auction item and the attendance of the Trends family.
