You’re Invited to Tour Our Newly Renovated Shelter

The Council of Community Services invites the community to tour our newly renovated homeless shelter and supportive housing during an open house on Tuesday, September 29.

The renovations, made possible through funding from the Wyoming Community Development Authority, have transformed the shelter into a safer, more functional, and more welcoming space for individuals and families in need.

A more functional space for shelter guests

The renovation expanded and reconfigured several important areas of the building. The former intake area is now part of the kitchen, while the new addition includes an intake office, community room, staff office and expanded laundry room.

The new laundry room has three washers and dryers, replacing the single set previously shared by shelter guests. When as many as 50 people may stay at the shelter during a month, reliable access to laundry makes a meaningful difference in daily life.

The shelter’s bathrooms were also renovated to address previous leaking issues, and a bathtub was added for the first time. Updated hallways now include lockers where guests can securely store their belongings.

Community members are invited to stop by the Council at any time during the open house to tour the renovated space, meet our team, and learn more about the programs we provide for Campbell County residents.

The open house will also be an opportunity to learn how local organizations, businesses, volunteers and donors work alongside the Council to provide food, shelter and other essential support throughout our community.

Renovations are only part of the work

Grant funding made these much-needed building improvements possible, but maintaining the shelter and providing services to local families requires ongoing community support.

The shelter operates around the clock, providing a safe place for adults, children, veterans and pets. Donations help cover the everyday costs of keeping the shelter open and ensuring guests have access to the care and resources they need.
