Client Feature: How CCS Programs Brought Comfort, Food, and Warmth to One Gillette Resident

As part of our new Client Features series, we’re sharing stories directly from the people we serve, because no one can explain the impact of our work better than those who experience it firsthand.

Recently, we received this letter from a client named D.B., who wanted to express gratitude for the Council of Community Services and the support they’ve received through multiple programs:

“This letter is to commend the Council and all the services it provides. In the past year, the SNAP and LIEAP programs have provided me with food and heat. Recently, your weatherization program and crew weatherized my trailer. The level of professionalism, teamwork, work ethic, and thoroughness of explanations was above and beyond perfect. Every single person gave one hundred and ten percent. Thank you! Thank you!

The Council is a huge asset for any community it serves. It isn’t always fun asking for help. The friendly faces and willingness to guide one in the right direction make the asking less difficult. All of the Council and its services are professional, competent, and friendly. Gillette is so fortunate to have you!”

D.B.’s experience is exactly why we do what we do. From assisting clients with applying for basic needs like food and heat through SNAP and LIEAP, to improving home safety and energy efficiency through Weatherization, every one of our programs is rooted in our commitment to human dignity.

We know that asking for help isn’t always easy. That’s why we strive to make every interaction as respectful and welcoming as possible. The trust our clients place in us is something we take seriously, and the positive feedback from D.B. reminds us how important that trust is.
