When you’re checking out at Albertsons this fall and the screen asks if you’d like to donate to Nourishing Neighbors, that little “yes” does something big right here in Gillette.

Starting at the end of October, Albertsons will kick off its Nourishing Neighbors campaign again. Every dollar donated at checkout goes straight back to the Council of Community Services as gift cards. We use those gift cards to help local families buy the food they need for their holiday meals.

It might seem small, but these donations make a real difference. They help fill plates, ease worries, and remind families that their community cares about them.

Here’s what a few of the people who received gift cards last year had to say:

“It helps to be able to get the extras that we need to complete meals.”

“It was a God-sent blessing. It helped so much. My husband is now disabled, and I need the help. Thank you so much!”

“So relieved! It was so incredibly thoughtful to be considered for such a blessing. My family and I were so grateful. Holidays are such an emotional time, and it was nice to know we were being thought of.”

When you say “yes” to donating, you’re helping to feed your neighbors. That money goes directly toward supporting families here in Campbell County who need a little extra help during the holidays.

We’re also so thankful for the staff at Albertsons for their continued partnership and support. In the photo below, you’ll see some of their team members alongside Sarah (far right), our Food Pantry Assistant. Sarah drives our Food Rescue truck every day, picking up donations from local grocery stores to help keep our shelves stocked and our community fed.

As the holidays get closer, keep an eye out for the Nourishing Neighbors prompt at checkout. It’s one of the easiest ways to give back and make the season brighter for someone right here at home.

Let’s make sure every family in our community has something to celebrate this holiday season.
