Leftover Holiday Food?

After the holidays, many households are left with pantry items like boxed stuffing, canned green beans, and other shelf-stable foods. While these ingredients are often associated with one specific meal, they can be turned into something new, filling, and affordable with a little creativity.

At the Council of Community Services, we believe that food should go further. These recipes are designed to be approachable, budget-friendly, and realistic for everyday cooking.

Try making BBQ Meat Loaf Minis, which use boxed stuffing mix as a binder instead of breadcrumbs. When combined with ground meat and pantry staples like barbecue sauce, these individual portions bake quickly and stretch ingredients into multiple meals. They are easy to pair with canned vegetables or whatever is already on hand!

Another idea is Baked Egg Stuffing Cups, a simple way to reuse leftover stuffing. Stuffing is pressed into a muffin tin, topped with an egg, and baked until set. This recipe works well for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and uses ingredients many households already have.

By sharing simple recipes like these, we hope to offer practical ideas that help households make the most of what they already have and reduce food waste while still putting a satisfying meal on the table. Stay tuned for more recipes to come!
